While the late summer sun hopefully keeps the city warm, Nikolaj Kunst and Svend Sømod invite you to cocktails at Nikolaj Plads, as a part of Copenhagen Cooking and Copenhagen Cultural District’s Thursday Bar.

With an interest in chemistry and sensation, the artist Svend Sømod is in charge of the proceedings – in an interim bar, located at the back of Nikolaj Kunsthal. Here, on the occasion of Golden Days, you can experience a re-enactment of Peter Bonnén’s iconic, rural work “Cornfield at Nikolaj Plads” from 1975.

The event is free. Cocktails can be bought at the bar on the day accompanied by tunes from DJ Kim Kemi.

Nikolaj Kunsthal mainly presents Danish, but also international contemporary art in a unique historical setting in the middle of Copenhagen. The art gallery is located in the old Sankt Nikolaj Church, which can be dated back to the 13th century. The beautiful architecture interacts with changing exhibitions, most recently by e.g. Radar Contemporary, Ditte Ejlerskov, Nikoline Liv Andersen and David Lynch. Nikolaj Kunsthal has its focus on Copenhagen's contemporary art scene and is busy with art meetings across genres, media and formats. The art gallery also presents ongoing concerts, performances, tours, dinners, talks and not least the new exhibition space Platform, which is dedicated to young artists and curators.
