Pink Oyster på Nikolaj Plads

Cooking i byen · Indre by Nikolaj Kunsthal Fit for english speakers

I forbindelse med Copenhagen Cooking 2024 inviterer Nikolaj Kunsthal til torsdagsbar d. 22. august. Kokken Jonas Harboe Frederiksen etablerer i den forbindelse en interimistisk østersbar udenfor på Nikolaj Plads og medbringer desuden det perfekte boblende match; en petnat skabt i samarbejde med Æblerov. Arrangementet afvikles i samarbejde med Teatermuseet i Hofteatret samt Københavns Kulturkvarter.

Nikolaj Kunsthal
Nikolaj Kunsthal præsenterer især dansk samtidskunst i unikke historiske omgivelser midt i København. Kunsthallen er beliggende i den gamle Sankt Nikolaj Kirke, der kan dateres tilbage til 1200-tallet. Den smukke arkitektur indgår i samspil med skiftende udstillinger, senest af bl.a. Shane Brox, Mikkel Carl, Radar Contemporary, Ditte Ejlerskov og Nikoline Liv Andersen. Nikolaj Kunsthal har sit fokus på Københavns samtidskunstscene og er optaget af kunstmøder på tværs af genrer, medier og formater. Kunsthallen præsenterer også løbende koncerter, performances, omvisninger, middage, talks og ikke mindst det nye udstillingsrum Platform, der er dedikeret til unge kunstnere og kuratorer.

“Min største inspiration er naturen. Jeg arbejder efter filosofien om, at vi skal holde jorden grøn og bæredygtig. Østers er smukke, men den invasive art gigas truer biodiversiteten. Blot ved at spise østers kan vi gøre naturen en tjeneste. Efter mine østers er serveret, bruges skallerne til at skabe unikke tallerkner og fade, hvor jeg serverer nye østers på.”

Pink Oyster at Nikolaj Plads

In connection with Copenhagen Cooking 2024, Nikolaj Kunsthal invites you to a Thursday bar on the 22nd of August. Chef Jonas Harboe Frederiksen will set up a temporary oyster bar outside on Nikolaj Plads and bring the perfect bubbly match; a petnat created in collaboration with Æblerov. The event will be held in collaboration with the Theatre Museum in Hofteatret and Copenhagen' s Cultural District.

About Nikolaj Kunsthal
At the centre of Copenhagen, on one of the city’s oldest squares, lies Nikolaj Kunsthal, which has been functioning as the city’s art centre since 1981. In a unique historical setting, Nikolaj Kunsthal continuously presents new contemporary art – usually site-specific and with a local angle or a special relationship to the city’s vibrant art scene. The art centre is also a meeting place – both for the city’s art and culture-interested citizens and for Copenhagen’s professional art environments. Today, the beautiful architecture is part of ongoing interaction with changing exhibitions – from e.g. HuskMitNavn’s playful and satirical expression to Radar Contemporary’s preoccupation with digital art. From Ditte Ejlerskov’s cultic oxytocin escape room to Nikoline Liv Andersen’s textile staging of fertility and motherhood. Some international names also sneak into the programme from time to time – most recently e.g. photo exhibitions by David Lynch and Tova Mozard.

‘My biggest inspiration is nature. I work according to the philosophy that we should keep the earth green and sustainable. Oysters are beautiful, but the invasive species gigas threatens biodiversity. Just by eating oysters, we can do nature a favour. After my oysters are served, the shells are used to create unique plates and platters where I serve new oysters.’
